Patrick Swayze reaffirmed that he will proceed with his lead role in the forthcoming A&E drama The Beast. Swayze, who revealed that he is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March, plays an unconventional FBI agent here who trains his new partner (Fimmel), himself being pursued by a secret Internal Affairs team at the same time.

This is what Swayze had to say about his role in this project:

I have searched for quite a long time to find a character that is this multilayered, unpredictable and downright entertaining as well as a project this current and cutting-edged

The veteran favourite who starred in The Ghost and Dirty Dancing has been permitted by his doctors to continue with his work.

Although reports have suggested the contrary, Swayze and his doctor have repeatedly said his situation is not critical and he has been “responding well to treatment” at Stanford University Medical Center.
